![]() It is still a good choice, however, especially if you can't connect using either of the methods above. Although Banktivity offers an integrated web browser to make this easier, this method does require the most steps. Web Download works by you downloading a file from your bank's website and importing it in to Banktivity. Web Download is the least automated way to get your data in to Banktivity. We don't have any control over which banks support it, and banks often charge their customers to use this service. Banktivity chat says it is a Chase OFX problem. Direct Download (OFX)ĭirect Download (OFX) is another automated way to connect to your banks, but support for this method varies by bank. Click on Download Now (no charge) to create a QuickBooks OFX- Profile. Also, one subscription to Direct Access allows you to connect from all your Macs, iPads, and iPhones. This service has a small fee, but allows you to connect to the largest list of banks. The easiest way to connect is by using our optional Direct Access service. I could stay with B7, but I want to transition to an iPad from a MacBook Pro. I do think the subscription price is too high, but Quicken is about the same. Intermingling transactions, ie re-downloading, things get very messy. What I did notice is that transactions downloaded via DD and DA differ. Banktivity connected, but downloads nothing. DA for Vanguard works, but my Bell Bank accounts do not. I have been using B8 beta and now B8 (29) and using DA for most of my accounts. I only used DD for Vanguard in B7, did not use their DA service. He said DD and Vanguard will are fixed in v8, just not in the current build, 29. The difference is that I contacted CountAbout’s support and the issue was resolved within 2-3 days and it’s still working months later. About a half hour later I got a response from Ian the owner. When I set up CountAbout, I ran into the same download issue I had with Banktivity that they hadn’t resolved for 7 MONTHS after countless contacts. Contacted support via their online support form. WAS working and then just stopped working, trying to login again produced an error. Have the same problem with DD and Vanguard (B7.5.3). And second, IGG broke the Vanguard connection. They apparently found one.yet now they refuse to update their software to implement that fix for current users. Banktivity has always been a great app to see all of your finances in one place, to answer questions about spending, investing and taxes. They've been working on a fix for months. They broke the download between B7 and Vanguard. I asked about an update for B7 and was told that they have no plans to update B7 beyond what is available right now. BANK2QIF is a better choice to convert financial transaction data from a wide variety of formats like PDF CSV, XLS etc to Quicken format easily and intuitively. I chatted with support yesterday after seeing that they had fixed it with a recent update to Banktivity 8. For those Banktivity 7 users who have had issues using Direct Download for Vanguard investment transactions, you can forget about that ever being fixed by IGG.
